Meida

Meida is a tropical moon orbiting the gas giant Pentas, most of the moon is covered by rainforests, though there are some arid desert regions close to the poles where it transitions to small polar tundra. Meida has three oceans, two supercontinents, and three continents, and has a land to ocean ration of 80:20. Though humid, the atmosphere is generally very clear and is completely unpolluted. Due to the amount of tree and vegetation coverage across the surface the moon appears green to observers,

There are two sentient forms of life on Meida, the Ranhana and the Meidan Edionans. The Ranhana are native to the planet, and while the Meidans themselves were created on Meida, the Tree of Life that birthed them has its origins on Ediona.

Traditionally held by a Ranhanan, the current holder of Meida's starseed is the Meidan Edionan Amarylla.

Starseed

Presenting as a briolette cut tyrian purple crystal, unlike most starseeds, this one does not automatically return to the Galaxy Couldron upon its holder's death. Instead, following Ranhanan culture, it transfers to whoever killed the previous holder and takes the transformation earring. This is common knowledge among the Ranhana, who know to look for the earring upon defeating a Sailor Meida. If the holder died due to natural causes or was killed by a non-sentient being, it returns to the Galaxy Cauldron to be reborn after a few hours, unless the earring is taken resulting in the crystal being claimed.

The Ranhana on Meida often appear particularly aggressive and volatile, but have their own values and balance that they hold. The tribes are in a constant state of war with each other, and often have internal struggles between their clans. but it is rare for these wars to extend beyond border skirmishes. Instead they are seen as ways to test their strength, fighting for the sake of fighting rather than the intent to invade another's territory. As territorial as they can be the borders usually stay pretty stable and in fact it is not unheard of for two or more clans to join together to fight some greater threat, whether it is another clan that has broken the balance and is invading land that is not theirs, or something on a much grander scale like the Invasion of Cataclysm. A big part of this is that while the Ranhana are very volatile and ready to fight at the drop of a hat, but don't hold grudges and instead forget about the cause of the conflict as soon as whatever caused the conflict is dealt with, or victory is claimed in the immediate battle

In Ranhana culture power is highly regarded, and the stronger you are the more respected you are. If you are overpowered in something, the person who beat you has the right to take your position. Fights are usually to the death. This philosophy is so strong that it extends to the behaviour of their starseeds.

Meidan Ranhana tend to have hair colour on the warmer spectrum as opposed to the more space-faring members of their species that tend towards cooler colours. Orange is the most common.

Meidan Edionans, commonly referred to as Meidans, are a subspecies of Edionans that were born from their own Tree on Meida itself. They make up the majority of the Edionan population on Meida, though there is at least one homeworld immigrant family. The Meidans have an unspoken truce with their Ranhanan neighbours, though this has not always been the case, and the passing of the Meidan starseed to an Edionan who had not bested the previous holder in combat stirred up some trouble.
