An Entity of primordial and unknown origins, Cataclysm appears as a nebulous mass of yellow and black clouds and has a never ending hunger for all of life.

 

Over the course of millions of years, this being has gorged itself on civilization after civilization, draining whole systems worth of life until nothing remained except for undead hoards which only further serve to sate it's gluttony for life. It knows nothing but hunger and will do anything to consume all living energy.

 

It's ancient enemies are the Trees of Life, who work to counter it's efforts to absorb all of life by seeding it across the universe. When it finds one nearby it'll seek to destroy it above all else.

 

In it's battle against the Edionan Tree of Life, it was sealed away in an metaphysical realm where it can no longer feed on life. Though it's armies have been trying to crack away at the walls of it's prison to once again set their master free, along with take revenge on those who did it.

 

The being has vast psychic abilities which it employs to keep his armies existing and obedient. The only physical noises it can make are a primordial and eldritch sounding screeches, members of the Cataclysm Forces can understand what it says, thought it can force a telepathic communication with beings that are not undead.

Undeath Bestowal

 

It can resurrect the beings whom it has sapped the life from. They are conscious beings, but no longer have biological functions and their bodies are only husks. They become completely obedient to Cataclysm and it's whim. It can be somewhat picky of what it chooses for it's army, preferring the strongest members of a civilization over anyone else.

 

Life Drain

 

It can sap away the Life Force of any living thing it can reach, rapidly eating at their life until it is completely consumed and the victim is dead. Plants, Animals, Sapient Beings, nothing is safe from it's life draining clutches. It's been known to wrap it's nebulous form around whole planets to eat the life upon it.

 

Possession

 

Occasionally it can possess another being by inserting a part of itself to the individual and dominating their will. The possessed individual must be a living being though, so it cannot use its lackeys to interact with the world beyond it's prison.

It has a plethora of psychic abilities that it can employ to further it's agenda. It can send out psychic force attacks on a grand scale. It can force itself into the minds of living beings and dig into the deepest recceses of the psyche. It can sew dark and malevolent thoughts into living beings along with other abilities.
